Carbon Offset Scotland would like to extend a big thanks to all those individuals and businesses who have supported their project.

The first batch of 4,000 trees went into the ground on 13th-14th April. In the pictures you will see the planters in action.

Using a professional contractor such as Scottish Woodlands ensures that the highest standards are maintained at all times.

In the pictures you will see that the ground has been mounded to suppress bracken growth. The trees are staked and sheathed. A deer fence is erected to protect the trees from sheep and, of course, deer. Only the other day three red deer were spotted patrolling round the fence trying to get in!

Offsetting through tree planting is not so much about planting trees as it is about growing trees, as the offset is calculated over the lifetime of the tree (approx 100 years). At COS we ensure that the trees are given the best possible chance of living a long life and fulfilling their offset.
